AutoMLers and Friends on BlueSky

BlueSky is a growing social network with an active community, particularly on AI topics. More and more AutoML people are active there. Join us to spread ideas on AutoML.

As a very nice feature, there are starter packs to quickly find people you can follow and reach out to on BlueSky. Above we link one listing AutoML researchers.

COnfiguration and SElection of ALgorithms (COSEAL)

COSEAL is a network connecting researchers working on the COnfiguration and SElection of ALgorithms. The primary focus is on algorithm selection and algorithm configuration. Both problems can be seen as instantiations of automated algorithm design, i.e., automatically optimizing the performance of algorithms. To cooperate, discuss new ideas and present the newest results, the COSEAL group has an active mailing list as well as a Discord server – join us there!

COSEAL organizes an annual workshop with ample opportunity to network and discover new research. It is open for everyone with an option to present past and ongoing work.

Benchmarking Network

The Benchmarking Network is an initiative that emerged in the summer of 2019 with the idea to consolidate and stimulate activities on benchmarking iterative optimization heuristics such as local search algorithms, evolutionary algorithms, swarm intelligence techniques, estimation of distribution algorithms, model-based heuristics, surrogate-based optimization, etc – in short, all algorithms that work by a sequential evaluation of solution candidates. It is an informal network of international researchers and practitioners using heuristic optimization methods.

OpenML

OpenML is an open, collaborative platform for machine learning that facilitates the sharing and use of datasets, algorithms, and experiments. It promotes transparency, reproducibility, and accessibility in machine learning research and practice. OpenML provides a centralized repository where researchers and practitioners can upload datasets, share machine learning workflows, and compare the results of various algorithms on common benchmarks.

OpenML is driven by a vibrant and collaborative community of machine learning researchers, data scientists, and open-source enthusiasts. This community plays a central role in shaping the platform by contributing datasets, algorithms, and experimental results. Their collective effort fosters an open environment where machine learning research and knowledge can be easily shared, discussed, and built upon.
